GLB-NEWS & GLB-PRESS
Submission Guidelines
Both lists are intended to be low in volume, and focused only on relevant material. They are therefore heavily filtered, and all posts have to be approved by the list editor before being distributed to the larger membership. The volume is limited to fifteen posts per day.
The guidelines are failry straightforward. GLB-NEWS is intended specifically for news articles. GLB-PRESS can include press releases as well as announcements of events and meetings.
Aside from that, the following guidelines apply:
- Neither list is intended for the posting of requests for information, solicitations or advertisments.
- All articles submitted should be in a clearly readable format and not include attachments of any sort.
- All articles submitted should follow basic rules of netiquette in terms of content and formatting. E. g., lines of text should not be longer than 75 characters across, there should be line breaks between each paragraph and carbon copies to multiple individuals should be blind cc'd, not in public view.
- Articles submitted should be specific to the nature of the list. Issues of a more general political nature which aren't queer-specific will be rejected. Articles, for example, which are only about AIDS and/or HIV without being glb*-specific will be rejected, just as will articles which only mention the Matthew Shepard case but are, in fact, about the merits (or lack thereof) of the death penality.
- There will be no notification when an article is refused for submission.
